PNGPack offers free downloads, but the permission to use an asset depends on its license. This page explains our standard image license and how to handle assets that belong to another creator.
Which license applies
The PNGPack Standard License below applies to assets expressly identified as PNGPack originals or marked “PNGPack Standard License”. It covers only rights that PNGPack owns or is authorised to license.
A third-party license stated on an asset page or its original source governs that asset. It may require attribution, limit commercial use or set other conditions. Our standard license does not replace it. If the source or license is unclear, contact pngpack.com@gmail.com before relying on the asset for a commercial project.
PNGPack Standard License
Subject to the conditions below, PNGPack grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to download, reproduce, adapt and include a covered image in a larger personal or commercial project. You may resize, crop, recolour or combine it with text and other design elements.
Examples include a website banner, app screen, presentation, social media post, video thumbnail, printed invitation or client design. You may publish or deliver the finished project as long as the image is included as part of that project and is not supplied as a separate reusable asset.
This permission does not transfer ownership, give you exclusive rights or allow you to grant a separate stock-image license to others.
Restrictions on standard licensed assets
You must not:
- Sell, share or rehost the original or edited image as a standalone download, stock asset, PNG pack or competing image collection.
- Distribute it inside an editable template, theme, app builder or other product where users can extract or reuse it as a separate design asset without additional permission.
- Use the image itself as the main item being sold, such as a print, sticker, transfer or print-on-demand design, without written permission. A broader finished design can be permitted, but adding only a border, name or minor edit does not turn the asset into a separate original product.
- Claim that you created the original asset, or register it as an exclusive trademark or logo.
- Use it unlawfully, deceptively or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.
These restrictions apply to the PNGPack Standard License. They do not add restrictions to rights granted by a separate public-domain, Creative Commons or other third-party license, or to uses permitted by applicable law.
Attribution
Credit to PNGPack is optional for assets covered by our standard license, unless the asset page says otherwise. A link to the image page is appreciated when practical.
If a third-party license requires a creator credit, copyright notice or license link, you must follow that requirement. Crediting PNGPack alone does not replace a credit owed to the original creator.
Logos and other protected subjects
A downloadable image may depict a trademark, logo, character, artwork, recognisable person or protected design. Our standard license does not grant rights in those subjects, model or property releases, or permission to imply endorsement.
Brand-related assets are offered for identification, reference or editorial purposes, subject to applicable law and the brand owner's terms. They are not commercially cleared by PNGPack. You may need separate permission for advertising, merchandise, branding or other uses. An editorial label does not override copyright or trademark law.
Mockups and externally linked files
A mockup listing that links to another website is a resource listing. The original creator or provider controls the file and its license. Check the source's current terms, attribution requirements and any included fonts or images before downloading or using it.
A label on PNGPack summarises the listing and does not replace the source license. If the two differ, follow the valid license issued by the rights holder and let us know about the mismatch.
Images you process with our tools
Your own uploads and tool results are not automatically covered by the PNGPack Standard License. You keep the rights you already have in your material. Processing someone else's file does not remove their rights or license conditions.
Records and updates
Keep a copy of the asset page and license that applied when you downloaded a file, especially for client or commercial work. Later policy changes apply prospectively and do not cancel an earlier permission that was validly granted and whose conditions you continue to meet. PNGPack cannot preserve a permission it never had the authority to grant.
Questions and copyright reports
If you need a use that is not covered here, email pngpack.com@gmail.com with the asset URL and a description of your project. We can clarify our own permissions but cannot approve a use on another rights holder's behalf.
Copyright concerns can be reported through our Copyright Policy and DMCA and Takedown Policy.
